Figures from Revenue, as reported by Bank of Ireland (Apr 2026) and The Irish Times (Feb 2025).

Why is Revenue sitting on my money?

Because in Ireland, most tax credits are opt-in. Revenue doesn't know you rent a box room in Rathmines, work from the kitchen table three days a week, or paid €70 every time the GP looked at you.

Nobody tells you. Your employer doesn't. Your landlord definitely doesn't. So every year, hundreds of thousands of us just… don't claim.

Fair Dues is the nudge. We work out what you're owed, then show you exactly how to claim it yourself. No middleman takes a cut of your refund.

What we check

Eight ways Revenue might owe you

01

Rent Tax Credit

up to €4,000

Renting since 2022? €500 for 2022 and 2023, then €1,000 a year. It covers flats, house shares, digs and student accommodation.

02

Remote Working Relief

30% of bills

Tax back on your electricity, heat and broadband for every day you worked from the spare room (or the kitchen table).

03

Health expenses

20% back

GP, consultant, physio, prescriptions, braces, root canals, IVF. The receipts in your drawer are worth money.

04

Flat rate expenses

up to €733/yr

Nurses, teachers, chefs, sparks, chippies, shop staff and more get a set amount off their taxable pay. You have to ask.

05

Tuition fees

20% back

Part-time degree, master's, postgrad cert. You get 20% back on fees above a threshold, whoever paid them.

06

Year you got married

a wedding gift

You're taxed as two singles in the wedding year. Claim back the difference. Almost nobody does.

07

Mortgage interest

up to €1,250/yr

Did your rate jump after 2022? 20% of the extra interest, for 2023, 2024 and 2025.

08

Single parents

up to €1,900/yr

The Single Person Child Carer Credit, plus a bigger 20% band. Easy to miss when life is busy.

We also flag the classic overpayment traps: emergency tax, two jobs at once, changing jobs mid-year and summer jobs.

Fair questions

Is this legit? Why would Revenue owe me money?

Most Irish tax credits are opt-in. Revenue doesn't know you rent, work from home or paid for physio unless you tell them. Revenue's own figures show over 500,000 PAYE workers didn't claim for 2024, leaving about €389 million on the table. The money is yours; it just has to be asked for.

Do you need my PPS number or myAccount login?

No, and never give those to a website like this. You answer a few questions, we estimate, and then you claim through your own Revenue myAccount. We never see it.

Why would I pay €4.99 if claiming is free?

Honestly, you don't have to. Everything can be claimed free on myAccount, and the free check tells you what to look for. The Claim Pack saves you the evening of googling: it gives you the exact clicks for each year, the figures to type in, which documents you need, and ready-made emails for your landlord or lender. Refund agents charge up to €99 or a cut of your refund for the same thing.

How accurate is the estimate?

It uses the real Revenue rates, bands and caps for 2022 to 2026, and it caps everything at the tax you'd have paid. It's still an estimate built from ballpark answers. Your myAccount has the final number. Each line is marked with how sure we are.

What happens to my answers?

They stay in your browser. If you buy the Claim Pack, your answers are attached to the payment so your pack link keeps working. There are no accounts, no marketing emails and no selling data. See the privacy page.

What's the rush?

You can only go back four years. Claims for 2022 close on 31 December 2026. After that, 2022's money is gone for good.
